Beef Goulash with Sourdough Dumplings, Potatoes and Vegetables
A Hungarian classic that I’ve wanted to include in our Wednesday menu at The Animal Medical Centre.
I grew up eating dishes like this at home. Goulash is a very popular dish in the UK. As popular as a stroganoff is.
I marinade the meat as I often do first, and then it’s cooked down with onions, garlic, carrots, celery, spices, paprika, tomato paste, and tomatoes, demi-glace, potatoes, chicken stock, wine, and coriander powder.
The beef is slowly cooked until super tender, then the dumplings are placed on top (to cook and absorb the deep-flavoured cooking gravy) for the final 20 minutes of cooking.
