-
1tsp cumin seeds
-
2tsp vegetable oil
-
250ml water
- melted butter to serve
-
350g flour
-
80g sour starter
-
1tsp salt
-
1tsp cumin seeds
-
2tsp vegetable oil
-
250ml water
- melted butter to serve
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Mix together in a medium bowl the flour, sourdough starter, salt, cumin seeds, oil and water.
Bring the mixture together using a spoon at first before using your hands. Use more flour if required. The dough should be quite sticky.
Step 2
Knead the mixture by pressing firmly onto the dough and rolling it. Press and roll until it’s smooth, about 5 mins.
Place dough into an oiled bowl and leave to stand for 30 mins in a warm area
Step 3
Divide the mixture into 6 pieces. Press each piece into a ball.
Using flour and a rolling pin, roll each ball into a flat circle 3mm thick or almost see-through.
Step 4
Place a large frying pan onto high heat. Heat until hot, wipe the pan with an oiled paper towel or oil spray. Lay the rolled dough into the frying and wait for it to blister. Once blistered, turn over and press down with a spatula.
.
Step 5
Wipe pan with oiled cloth in between cooking each bread.
Brush with melted butter and serve.
